The potential of colored pencil as a portrait medium produces a life-like image with the qualities and richness of a painting. You will be surprised at the rich hues, textures and detail that colored pencil is capable of creating.  By overlaying and blending colors various techniques can be used to bring your portrait to life.  I use Berol Prismacolor pencils with their wide variety of colors and smooth workability to produce these results.

FINISHED! But, I'll set it in a convenient location so I can catch any alterations that need to be made.  It's not truely finished until it's signed.
With the completion of the baby's shirt the clothing is finished and the background blanket is the final segment.
Young boy's shirt is complete.  The baby is next and then a simple background.
Beginning the clothing.  The original colors provided to much contrast. I've decided to make the clothing and background monochromatic.
The faces have been completed on this portrait commission of three children.  Taken from a photograph, layers of Prismacolor colored pencils have been built to finish the faces.
